Bring on the blustery days

Fall is my favorite time of year.....Ok not all of it, mostly just the parts where it is brisk and windy with lots of leaves blowing around, and it's kind of dark outside , but not too dark. when it's slightly damp but not raining, a little chilly but not too cold. Sweater weather but not jacket or parka weather. Is that being too picky?
Things are looking very autumnal here around the nursery and the store with lots of red, orange, and yellow leaves on the trees and beautiful fall inspired decor inside the store. We would love to see you all, so drop in and say hello.
We have a few exciting things coming up in the next week or so, with the last outdoor "Vintage Gathering " flea market sale of the year, coming up this Saturday (sept. 25th) For details go to www.avintagegathering.blogspot.com If you have not been to one of these sales yet, you really need to experience it. The collection of talented vendors is quite impressive and everyone is super friendly and there are amazing treasures to be found for very reasonable prices. The last sale in July was our busiest and most successful to date, and we hope to continue that trend even if the weather isn't quite as nice as last time :)
In addition to the flea market sale in Battle Ground, the Nursery (NW nursery outlet) is having a huge fall sale between sept. 24th and oct. 3rd with 20%-40% off of various shade and fruit trees along with japanese maples and dogwoods. Their prices are already fantastic so there will be some serious deals to be had. We are having a sale inside the store as well with everything in the store 10% off and selected seasonal and decor items up to 40% off.
One of my favorite songs is "we're going to be friends" by the white stripes (also done by jack johnson) It starts out like this.......
"Fall is here..., hear the yell
back to school....,ring the bell
brand new shoes..., walkin' blues
climb the fence..., books and pens
I can tell that we're going to be friends"
It always makes me think of this time of year. Hope to see you soon, friends..... matt and veronica

Quilt show at the store/nursery on Saturday!

Hello again! We can't wait for the Quilt show ,this weekend on Sat. July 10th from 10-4. The weather appears to be breaking perfectly for us, it should be a comfortable 83 and sunny. This show is being organized by the "Flying Geese Quilters", of Ridgefield WA and hosted by ourselves and the Northwest Nursery Outlet, where we are located, who have generously offered the use of the nursery property to display a huge number of amazing hand made quilts, along with several "quilt oriented" vendors.
This will be a rare opportunity to see this many quilts in one place, and have a chance to see all of the time, care and craftsmanship that goes into making these works of art and a chance to meet the people who have made them. I am inspired every time I see a handmade quilt after watching the process from start to finish with heirloom quilts made by my wife, sister, and mother.
It should be really fun , so I hope you can make it by at some point during the day and pop into the store to say hello while you are there!
If you have not been to the store yet we are at 12503 ne 72nd ave Vancouver WA 98682 If you are heading north on andresen from the home depot/costco area , just past where andresen becomes 72nd ave, look for the flashing yellow sign above the roadway for the fire station and we are right there on the right hand side

Flea market time- Woot!-Woot!

We are sooooo excited for the first "vintage gathering" event of the year. This Saturday, May 8th from 8-4 we will be down at "beyond the garden gate" for a flea market- style event featuring ourselves and lots of other terrific vendors .
We had 4 events last year and they were all amazing and the weather cooperated with us at all of them so I'm expecting nothing else this weekend (fingers crossed:)
We have been gathering up treasures over the winter and are looking forward to bringing them out in the sun. We had a great time getting to know all of the other vendors last year and were humbled to be surrounded by that many amazingly talented people. If you love vintage and re-purposed furniture and unique items for your home, you won't want to miss it!
Our store will be open all weekend as well and we will be handing out discount coupons for people who want to go check it out after they leave the flea market, so if you haven't been there yet this will be a great time to do so.
The vintage gathering sale will be at 17414 ne 199th st Battle Ground WA 98604. It is at the far east end of 199th right before the "S" turn. You can find more info at www.avintagegathering.blogspot.com Hope to see you there!

Has anyone seen spring? (I think it got lost:)

What is the deal with this crazy weather?!
We are having fun down at the store , even with the rain, hail, snow, and wind that April has thrown at us.
I you haven't stopped by in a while , we have opened up a second large room full of fun stuff and expanded our hours for spring. We are open 10:00 am-5:00 pm Wed. through Sun. , and if the sun is shining we usually stick around until 6:00.
If you are gearing up for gardening once the weather cooperates , we have several potting benches (including kid sized!) along with containers and kids gardening tools and gloves. You could give the kids some tools and tell them its a new "Wii" gardening game and see how many weeds they pull before they figure it out. OK, maybe not :)
We are bringing fun new items into the store every day , so stop by and visit!
P.S. the first "Vintage Gathering" flea market sale of the year is just around the corner (more details to come soon) and we hope to see you there. Bye for now-Matt and Veronica

This should be a really fun weekend! There is so much going on , my head is spinning a little (more than it usually does:) We are having our Grand Opening celebration on Friday, Saturday and Sunday(Mar 12,13,14), and our friends at "Uncovered Ruby" and "Beyond the Garden Gate" (along with a few others) are having a progressive garden party event on Saturday(Mar13).
For our Grand Opening we will be opening up a second huge room full of goodies that we may or may not call "Olive Kat 2-Electric Boogaloo" (ok, probably not) We have several new lines of products that we have been waiting until the opening to unveil so if you have already stropped by in the last few weeks its worth coming in again to see all of the new treasures!
For this weekend there will be 10% off of everything and we we will be having daily door prize drawings so if you stop by , make sure you sign up on the e-mail list so you can be entered in the drawing.
Kurt has been busy building all kinds of furniture for us including lots of beautiful things for your garden, and we have a section full of things for kids too! We hope to see you this weekend!-matt and veronica
